What are T- Levels

T - Levels are a brand-new qualification choice that will follow GCSEs and give students a head start towards the career they want.

They will suit students who wish to start working towards a skilled occupation, prefer a practical approach to learning and want a predominantly classroom-based course.

Below is a collection of resources and webinars that will help to equip you with the information needed to understand the new courses and be able to engage with parents and pupils about T Levels.

In school we will be introducing this pathway alternative to pupils from Y9 through to Y11 with input from external agents such as ASK apprenticeships and Cheshire College South & West.

Traineeships & Apprenticeships

A Traineeship is an introduction-level programme that combines a work placement with training. They usually lead on to a Level 2 apprenticeship.

New Apprenticeships are real jobs with real employers, allowing you to work, earn a salary and gain valuable qualifications and experience.

With over 600 different apprenticeship standards covering everything from accountancy to zoo keeping, there is an apprenticeship out there for everyone.

Apprenticeships offer choice, opportunity, qualifications, support and a head start into a future career.

At Madeley we ensure that all pupils are familiar with the new Apprenticeships, the different levels, where to find them and give them the skills to evaluate if an apprenticeship is right for them.

We work with ASK apprenticeships who visit both our Y10 and Y11 pupils in drop down days and during apprenticeship week in school to talk about all things apprentices!

Newcastle College and other businesses and apprenticeship providers visit to give assemblies and talks to all year groups during National Apprenticeship week and across the year.
