Dear Students and Parents/Carers,

We are pleased to share the Madeley School Student & Parent/Carer Overview Calendar 2026–2027 Spreadsheet (link at the bottom of this information).

The calendar spreadsheet has been created to bring together important dates, events and opportunities from across the school year into one accessible resource. Rather than having to look in several different places, students and parents/carers can use the different pages within the spreadsheet to quickly find information relevant to them.

What is included in the calendar?

The spreadsheet currently includes:

  • Student & Parent Guide – an introduction to the Student & Parent/Carer Overview Calendar speadsheet, explaining its purpose, the information available across each of the spreadsheet pages, how the calendar will continue to be updated throughout the academic year, and how students and parents/carers can provide feedback and suggestions to help improve the resource.

  • Whole School Calendar – key dates and events taking place across the school throughout the 2026–2027 academic year.

  • Parent Consultation Evenings – dates for parents' evenings, consultation events, workshops and other important parent/carer meetings.

  • Compass Life Skills Curriculum – an overview of the Personal Development and Life Skills curriculum studied by students from Years 7–11.

  • Year 10 & Year 11 Mock Exams – key mock examination dates and examination windows to support revision and preparation.

  • CEIAG & STEM Overview – an overview of careers and STEM learning, employer encounters, work experience and post-16 activities across the academic year.

  • CEIAG Lesson Topics – the careers education students receive as they progress through Years 7–11, including links to Unifrog and Personal Development.

  • CEIAG & STEM Careers Dates – national careers, STEM, apprenticeship and employability events, with links to further information where available.

  • CEIAG & STEM In-School Activities – careers and STEM activities taking place within school, including visiting speakers, assemblies, employer encounters and work-related learning.

  • Year 10 & 11 Post-16 Open Events – college, sixth-form and other post-16 open events, including dates, times and links to further information.

  • Enrichment Calendar – trips, sporting activities, Duke of Edinburgh, performances, enrichment days and other wider opportunities.

  • Assembly Framework 2026–2027 – an overview of the themes covered through the school's assembly programme and how these support students' wider personal development.

  • Sources & Notes – useful websites, resources and links connected with the information contained within the calendar.


A calendar that will continue to grow

The Student & Parent/Carer Overview Calendar is a working document and will be updated on an ongoing basis throughout the academic year.

New opportunities, careers events, employer encounters, STEM activities, post-16 open events and other school activities will be added as information becomes available. Some dates may also change, so we encourage students and parents/carers to check the calendar regularly and continue to refer to individual school communications for the latest information about specific events.

We would welcome your feedback

As this is a new resource, we would really value feedback from students and parents/carers about how useful and accessible you find the Overview Calendar.

We would particularly welcome suggestions about:

  • information or dates that you would find useful to see included;

  • additional sections that could be added to the calendar;

  • ways in which the calendar could be made easier to use;

  • careers, STEM, enrichment or post-16 information that you would find particularly helpful; and

  • any other suggestions that could help us improve the resource.

Your feedback will help us to continue developing the calendar so that it is as useful as possible for students and parents/carers throughout the school year.
